R&B superstar Usher Raymond has relieved
his mother, Jonnetta Patton, from her
position as his manager. For months now rumors have been
that Usher's fiance, Tameka Foster has been
pressuring him to let her go and hire Patton
in her place. On Monday (May 7), the singer
released an official statement announcing her departure
from the position, claiming he and his mother are on
"great terms and support each other in our life's
endeavors. We are both very happy but are now
working in different areas of the business."
"This is great for me because it means I now get
to have my mother strictly as my mother with no
added pressure," he continued. Dismissing the
possibility of Patton's replacement by his fiancee, Usher
stated [Foster] "has no aspirations of becoming
my manager or any other artist's manager."
